Office cleaning checklist

Use this to evaluate your current cleaning service, write a scope of work, or just know what "clean" should actually cover.

This is a general-purpose checklist, not a promise of exactly what any specific vendor includes — always confirm the actual scope of work in writing. See our Office Cleaning page for what's typically included in our own plans.

Every visit (daily or per-scheduled cleaning)

  • Empty all trash and recycling bins, replace liners
  • Wipe down desks, counters, and shared surfaces
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms — toilets, sinks, mirrors, floors
  • Restock restroom and breakroom supplies (paper products, soap)
  • Vacuum carpeted areas and high-traffic floors
  • Mop and spot-clean hard floors
  • Wipe down breakroom tables and counters
  • Empty and reline breakroom trash

Weekly

  • Dust surfaces, ledges, and furniture
  • Clean interior glass and partitions
  • Detail-clean entryway and reception area
  • Vacuum under furniture and in corners

Monthly or periodic

  • Dust vents, light fixtures, and baseboards
  • Clean interior windows
  • Deep-clean or spot-treat carpet
  • Wipe down kitchen/breakroom appliance exteriors
  • Disinfect high-touch points — door handles, light switches, elevator buttons

Seasonal or as-needed

How to use this list

If you're evaluating a current or prospective vendor, ask them to map their actual scope of work against a list like this one — see our scope of work guide for what a good written scope should look like. A vendor who can't clearly say what's included at each frequency is harder to hold accountable later.
